Alderwood School, Aldershot

As part of a project run by Rushmoor Borough Council, students from Alderwood School in Aldershot and The Wavell School in Farnborough created artwork to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III (alongside Victoria Day in Aldershot, Farnborough’s aviation heritage and Armed Forces Day).
Over 50 pieces of artwork were entered and selected designs were displayed on lamp post banners and signs around both town centres.

Ludworth Primary School

Ludworth Primary School have made this wonderful window display of Coronation artwork from all year groups.
Pupils also learnt and performed a song as a whole school, held a picnic on the school field, and have been taking part in their ‘Smile for a While’ challenge – all in celebration of the Coronation!

Inclusion College, Hook

Inclusion College is a specialist college for young people aged 16 to 25 with mental health and learning difficulty. They have been celebrating The King’s Coronation and have made a fantastic Westminster Abbey with The King outside with a crowd of people around him.

The 2nd Corfe Mullen Peregrine Beavers in Dorest have been busy making all things creative for the Coronation, including a King Charles collage, handmade crowns, and a ‘Pin the Diamond on the Crown’.

1st Kingswinford Scouts, Dudley

Sam (13), Alfie (13), George (13) and Jonjo (13) along with leader Myla (19) from the 1st Kingswinford Scouts in Dudley have created this fantastic poster all about how Scouts have contributed to Coronations throughout history.
They had great fun finding out all the information and have told the rest of the Scout troop all about what they have found out!

Shagufa, Saudi Arabia

Chef Shagufa from Saudi Arabia has shared her Coronation recipe for Rubri Delight.

RUBRI DELIGHT 
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 7 – 8 cardamom pods
  • 1 litre milk
  • 1 tin condensed milk
  • 1 tin evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 khoya (crumbled dried milk)
Method:
  1. Soak the rice with green cardamoms and crush them together.
  2. In a pot, add the milk, evaporated milk and crushed rice and cardamom. Let it cook on a slow heat.
  3. Once the rice is cooked through, add the condensed milk, chopped nuts and coconut and let it cook until it gets a little thick.
  4. In the end, add crumbled dried milk. Turn the gas off.
  5. Garnish with cardamom powder, nuts, silver foil n rose petals
