The event takes place from 2pm on Coronation Day and after the formal ceremony and processional. The aim is to provide our community with a free event where we can all come together to celebrate and mark this historic occasion. From 2 pm until 6pm we have an afternoon of both staged entertainment and walkabout entertainers. This includes circus performers, close up magicians, face painters, balloon modellers, morris dancers, brass bands and more. The afternoon programme will conclude with our very own proms led by a local brass band – free union jacks to wave! At 6pm we aim to mirror Brian May’s iconic performance on top of Buckingham Palace when a local musician will play God Save the King from the top of the Church Tower! Never been done before! There will then be an evening music concert culminating in our village doing it’s bit for the ‘Lighting up the Nation’ initiative when we have a spectacular firework finale. It promises to be a very special day for everyone.
