Local older peoples charity SCCCC are hosting a celebration event for approx 70 isolated, vulnerable people from across the city. The charity has been running a befriending service since 1966, where volunteers spend an hour a week having a cuppa and a chat with a lonely older person.
The event is for service users on the Good Neighbour Befriending service and their volunteers to come along and enjoy afternoon tea and live entertainment. The theme will be red, white and blue and there will be time to reminisce about the previous coronation as many of the people there will have experienced the Queen’s Coronation too.
It promises to be an afternoon of song, chat and laughter, all the right ingredients for a right royal knees up.
